Create a Character Introducing… Danni Charles Darwin

We worked with a fantastic group of Year 3 writers from the Prince of Wales school on how to go about creating a brand new character and bring it to life. Using a collection of objects dropped by this person as they left The Bank, this group of character detectives were able to identify the individual, tell us what they looked like, reveal their personality and even give us their backstory and family history.

The class then went on to create another 30 characters who live in The Town of Dreams & Nightmares. It’s getting to be a pretty busy town now, and, judging by the sorts of weird and wonderful characters who live there, it’s also a pretty strange place to live!

Huge thanks to the absurdly brilliant Jasmine Baker for her illustration of Danni for our character card. She really brought the group's description to life.

We were lucky enough to be assisted in the workshop by our marvellous mentors, who gave their time and expertise to help coax this brilliant work out of the pupils. Rowan and Raja, we cannot thank you enough!
