THe Cat Cow and the Tropical Island - a tale of WEIRDNESS and wonder
Last Friday saw us heading back to Salway Ash to work with their Year 3 class on a story making project that nobody saw coming! The imaginations of these young authors were really working overtime, and the group came together to craft a beautiful story about a young cat cow named Derek who follows in the footsteps of its parents in an attempt to find a friend. Along the way he encounters dragons, dank caves, shiny mansions and even giant, monster spiders!
We had a blast making this story and the class can be very proud of the amazing work they did. It is truly an epic tale if ever there was one. Illustrations, including the unenviable task of showing us what a cat cow looks like, came from the ever wonderful Jasmine Baker, whose incredible work can be checked out HERE.
Huge thanks to Mrs Bowditch and Mr Overment along with all the brilliant staff at Salway Ash Primary. We love visiting this amazing school and we can’t wait to go back.
And, as always, our team of fantastic volunteer writing mentors were on hand to support the young people in their writing. Without them we would not be able to what we do, so a huge thank you to, Nick, Ambs and Liz - you’re awesome.
