Poetry Personified

Our series of meteorology-themed poetry workshops continued at Salway Ash Primary, with Year 3/4. The session coincided with Crazy Clothing Day in school, so it was a mad dash for us to gather some suitable attire to join in the fun - class teacher Miss Cole stayed in her dressing gown for the day and pyjamas was definitely a popular choice all round.

The 7-9 year-olds worked through various tasks to create Personification Poetry, a challenging form that brought some lovely writing involving arguments between the elements, which the pupils also acted out with gusto. They shared their poems with the Bank Manager, who unsurprisingly, struggled to grasp the concept of personification far more than the astute young writers.
