Cadavers at Colfox

There’s a sense of mystery growing at Sir John Colfox School, where Year 9 pupils are tapping into their dark side to produce creative writing for an anthology entitled Eerie. This new project is a six-week series of sessions to build students’ portfolios of work for the book, and they’ve embraced the challenge.

In our latest session the young writers took inspiration from Simon Armitage’s About His Person, to create a Body on the Beach. These were well-drawn characters with backstories, which they then developed by writing scenes.

Their writing thus far has embraced a sense of eerie - both tangible and in essence - and we can’t wait to read what comes next.
