Dare you enter The Valley?

Monday saw a wonderful launch event celebrating the publication of 'Stories from the Valley', an anthology of fantastic fiction penned by some very talented students from Axe Valley Academy in Axminster.

Kindly hosted by the amazing Axminster Waffle House and supported by Archway Books, Axminster’s fabulous independent bookshop, the young authors gathered with friends and family to celebrate their success. The sense of pride was tangible, and we at The Bank are absolutely delighted for them. The collection is the culmination of ten weeks of in-school sessions exploring stories, locations and characters inspired by the idea of ‘Change’. This brilliant collection contains stories that range from the hilarious to the horrifying and includes a range of haunting vignettes from the same authors.

The cover was illustrated by the fabulous Jasmine Baker with some beautifully subversive visuals which captured the sense of the tales perfectly. Thanks also to Spike Golding for his design expertise and to Eddy Pearce for the photography and Isabel Ashdown, award winning author and writing coach, for her insightful foreword.
