Beaminster Journalists bring New Publication to the school

We’ve been having a lot of fun working with a group of enthusiastic young journalists from Beaminster School, creating a brand new print publication. This group of tenacious news-hounds are digging the dirt and uncovering the truth of everything from how the cost of living increase is affecting businesses in Beaminster, to whatever happened to the Beaminster Swimming Pool. We’ve quizzed the headteacher about whether the patriarchy has an unbreakable hold on power in the education system, delved into the history of Dungeons and Dragons, spoken to body-builders and mental health professionals. Along the way they’ve interviewed members of the public, worked with professional journalist Rob Kemp, reviewed, interrogated and pounded the local streets to bring you all the news that’s fit to print.

The work they have produced is genuinely amazing and these future journalists deserve every success with their new print publication. The group have been lucky enough to benefit from the assistance of our incredible team of volunteer writing mentors; Jon, Kate, Lu, Raja, Valerie and Vega we salute you! Thanks also of course to Rob Kemp for his expertise and guidance, and to Beaminster School’s Ms Gribler, for her organisation and calm oversight.

If you want the low-down and the unexpurgated facts - keep your eyes peeled for new publication, The Beaminster Beast!
