Art Imitates Life at Mountjoy

Bertie the Butternut Squash was the main character in Willow class’ charming story about a vegetable who wished for arms and legs. Bertie was chosen from an array of fruit, vegetable, and furry characters in this special storymaking workshop.

The real life models were actually brought to life by Daria Lukyanova’s illustrations - a touch of the surreal there, to match the ‘surreally’ wonderful stories created by our young writers.

Bertie found a friend in the Wizard, and together they encountered a rather sinister spider during their time together. This was the third story from Mountjoy school, in what has been a delightful series of storymaking workshops with their KS2 and KS3 classes.
