The Bank

The building that inspired the idea for The Bank of Dreams and Nightmares is up for sale, and we are trying to find a way to acquire it as our permanent home. The idea has always been that we would operate as a real bank but we deal in the currency of words and stories rather than money. Our permanent home will be a hub for the community, a place to deposit and withdraw your stories and a shop where you can purchase published stories by all the children that attend our workshops. Somewhere on the banking floor will be a secret door that leads the children through to the creative writing area, and it will be a truly magical place. We have the production design team behind His Dark Materials TV show standing by to help us transform the space into an Unnecessarily Beautiful Space for Young Minds on Fire!

So we are looking for a philanthropic investor who might be interested in acquiring the building as an asset and then leasing it back to us on favourable terms. It is currently being marketed at £395,000 for the freehold and is 3,065 sq ft in size. It is a grade 2 listed building and has an amazing presence on the high street.
