Proud Writers at Prout Bridge Project

Beaminster’s Prout Bridge Project Youth Club kindly invited us to their juniors session, where young writers worked collaboratively - and noisily! - to create Haiku, and responded to each other’s short poems to build Tanka.

This ancient form of Japanese poetry is hugely popular in its Western incarnation, lending itself to ‘conversations’ between writers. The Prout Bridge youngsters responded brilliantly to the challenge, and their word craft will be on display in a special exhibition in early 2022. Watch this space!
