Mentors Haikus inspire a Dreams-and-Nightmares-Catcher.

One rainy evening

volunteers meet at the bank

for tea and haikus.

Our writing Mentors are properly awesome! We wanted to acknowledge and celebrate the extraordinary contribution of our amazing volunteers. We also wanted a chance to say thank you for the time, support and expertise they give and so, on Tuesday evening we invited as many as could make it to join us at the LSi building in Bridport to drink tea, eat cake and write Haikus. Once we’d worked on our poems, distilling the essence of words down to it’s purest form - you’re only allowed a total of 17 syllables for the whole poem - we wove them into the fabric of our Dream-and-Nightmare-Catcher.

We had a lovely, relaxing time word smithing and weaving. Thanks to all those who attended. If you think this might be something you fancy joining in with, then do get in touch with our volunteer co-ordinator, Alex, and maybe we can do more!
