We spent a delightful morning meeting our newest volunteers, who kindly gave up their time to take part in a two-hour training session.

Our volunteers are such an integral part of what we do; their role is to mentor young writers throughout our workshops in school and out. The feedback we’ve had shows that this unique approach - having a high ratio of adults to children - has a hugely positive impact on the children we work with.

Our informal and friendly training sessions are led by Creative Learning Manager Janis Lane and TBODAN founder Nick Goldsmith at the Bridport LSi, a creative and inspiring space. We discuss the role of a volunteer, do fun writing tasks, drink tea, and eat freshly-baked muffins, because the creative process needs sustenance!
