A Sense of Theatre

As World Book Day approaches (3rd March), Bridport St Mary’s CE Primary are going storymaking mad! We kicked off a series of workshops with their KS2 classes to make each pupil a published author by World Book Day, and Dragonflies class was first up to visit the magical Lyric Theatre for a morning of fun and creative writing.

After doing a special knock on the door to gain access, the pupils aged 7-8 enjoyed the cavernous, creative space. The storymaking process involved TBODAN’s democratic approach to collaborative writing: a system of no-peeking voting for characters and cliffhanger sentences.

The Dragonflies created a delightful story called Theo The Great about an alien, a fox, and A LOT of pythons. With Frogs, Mallards, and Swans classes still to come, Bridport St Marys is going to have a WBD to remember.
